Leaving deer where they lay

Hello folks I got a rather interesting topic that I kinda just wanna hear everyones opinion on. So I was watching YouTube and I was watching a stupid channel called grow Whitetail something and they mentioned a tip that they use where they shoot the first doe they see and they leave it lay and a buck will come along find her scent follow it to her and then they shoot the buck. Sounds simple right? Well then they mentioned it might lay all day or that if it goes off in a really thick spot they just leave it cause it's food for other animals and they mentioned that they do that everytime they go hunting. So my question to all the old timers and whatnot is this a practical trick? To me it sounds like a huge violation

I’d report them to their state wildlife agency. Shooting a deer and intentionally leaving for “food for other animals” is waste of game and frankly disgusting.

I could see waiting an hour or more if weather permits. Not something I personally would do. However leaving it all day or just leaving it is unacceptable.

Some of those Midwest and southern states whole-heartedly believe the animals on their side of the fence are their animals to do with what they please….. lol definitely a violation.

That's what I thought but unfortunately these people are big time hunting YouTubers so not much would probably happen if they was to be reported

Oh yeah I mean I don't like to leave blood or guts in my deer for very long and both of the deer I've shot has been gutted in 30 mins or so but leaving them to the point of stiffness just blows my mind

Basically all of the Midwest and all of the South and all of the Western states people think that the animals are shooting targets and all of the eastern States (PA up to Maine) are just a bunch of road Hunters from what I've seen

Being a YouTuber doesn’t make them exempt from the law. Report them.

My boy does this with gophers to great effect, but they don't require the animal to be tagged immediately and we don't eat them. Illegal in many places, uncouth in all.
I've heard people doing it with coyotes but yet again ain't no one eating coyotes but deer? Seriously

Obviously illegal. Most states have dedicated officers for looking for and investigating social media game violations.

But I just want to say how ignorant this guy is and even more ignorant are the viewers if they actually think this would work. During the fall there is probably 1 or 2 new deer killed by cars on my route to work every night, most are does. If this tactic actually worked like this “professional” claims there should be monster bucks just standing in the road ditch dry humping the air near every roadkill.

You sure about that?
Pretty bold statement.

So u think only western hunters have morals. Interesting.

Guessing this is the video you are referencing unless you have another one. Grant Woods is a pretty stand up guy with everything I watched of his videos. Never says anything about leaving as food for other animals and not going to tag it.

It was similar to that one let me look and see if I can find it again I believe the guy hunted in Indiana
