Late season bull quail....

Jeager and I went for a nice walk Sunday. The first covey had 100+ birds and the second had 75+ birds. Left a couple of 25 bird coveys alone. I had no less than a dozen nice pieces of dog work squandering a couple of shooting opportunties while fumbling for the camera.
A taxidermist friend asked me to save a couple of specimens for him and I obliged.
Thank goodness for welfare ranchers!

Have to leave a few for seed.

Jeager is a good looking dog also. Where did you get him? Would be curious if they had any more... maybe next year.
