Late monsoons, record El Nino...

40 and dropping fast.
NE winds blowing already. 40-50 mph.

Still frosty when they got here yesterday.
Ground appears dry 6ft down, but I know there is moisture, as the volcanic dust was not billowing away.
Berry patch gone. Dead berry experiment.
Shady tree spot gone where mosses & Maidenhair ferns would appear after a good storm.
Frostfree spigot still standing. I have sacks of native grass seed and wildflower mixes to plant.

Dotti is in shock. Where are the critter spots?
She got a fresh T-bone bone after they left. She would have followed them to Mangas...LOL.

Lester called @ 5pm, coughing. I said, " Trenching into the wind?" Yep. Utility lines into 2 homes in Pie Town. Done.
How's it look? Good. Do you need a bill? No. Cash? Yes, if it's less than 5 G's. Way less, just need their hours...less than 2 for sure.
Is there a chance of a load of this good rock? The good Marie Rock? Yes.
I was going to bring a load and thicken the spot up to the house and enough for your other parking area and walkway.
Bring the grader out anyway next week. Hit our road and fix the axlebreaker, neighbors request. Smooth out Tom's and hit Dennis' too.
Cool.
Told him I gave Don the old utility trailer and some rolls of wire. Made his day. A UTV and a portable welder rig will work great for them. 2 water camels for unpotable water, fit right in trailer. Perfect for remote concrete...
He laughed, then coughed. I bet it did.
I'll get their hours and be out next week.
Maybe rain next week...we'll get er done.
Bring the Bobcat & reset container and bury the rest in spring.

Cool, " I may be broke,but I'm not a broke Dick!".
Laughing and coughing he said, " And you have good friends in area. We got your back Hank."

Don pulled me aside after lunch and said, "You know, there is a big bull up behind Tom's in the trees?"
"Big 6x w/about 30 cows?."
Yep...never paid me no mind grading. Huge bull...
Know one knows he's there. Have a cow hunt next month.
"Mum's the word".

Saw a red fox this morning. 1st ever here. Greys and kits, but no reds.
Dotti never saw it,luckily.
She's finishing a little bone next to me and licking pitch off her paws.
Cold and windy out.
Warm in here.

Life is good!
