Oh man. I'm as nostalgic as the next guy but those things would give you a hell of a nasty blister on your middle finger even on a deer, let alone an elk. But the little match case built into the handle was clever. I bet my dad still has his. The blade was curved because he wore it on his belt and sat on it. So it refused to cut a straight line. Made for some interestingly shaped quarters, for sure.
sounds like a what-a-saw or a Sven saw...I'm quite partial to the what a saw and the fact I can put 2 wood cutting blades and a bone saw all in the same cutout and it not weight anything. Its an absolutely wonderful piece of equipment.Oh man I have had several
Of these over the years if I can just dig one up I must have one in my piles of junk.. I would love to have it go to someone who wanted it. I’m not sure I ever used one, genuine Naugahyde case if I remember. They were also ubiquitous in various Rubbermaid totes of random stuff among Alaskan outfitters. Didn’t they have a compartment in the handle for matches also? The other saws that I remember were a red aluminum tube that had the rest of the saw inside.
