No. Up here most sheep hunters I know use Grundens Men’s Neptune Commercial Fishing Jacket. It is non gortex and medium weight. Cost ~$100
I have a set of Helly Hansen heavy weigtht commercial rain gear from 1989 that is still my go to rain gear on my boat, but too heavy for backpacking applications.

I have used them, they're pretty good considering I was able to find them under half price a couple years ago. If I had to pay full price I'd probably go with firstlite or similar. They pack down to about the size of a football together. Seems pretty water proof but I haven't had to use too much. Doubt they'd survive long in AK conditions, but for light to moderate use they seem fairly durable.
