Don't know why this photo turned out smaller and off to the side??

This buck was taken here last season...and no, not by yours truely :(
Yesp, there are still some decent deer in Kalifornica...even if you do shoot them a little far back.

Chsr/Muley- I actually don't know that fellow...friend of a friend kinda deal but your right- that buck is a Smoker! Public ground buck too from what I understand....same place we hunted last year but a week or so (and some good storms) later into the season.

I burned my points on the hunt last year and just passed on dinks...probably be a year or two before I draw it again but its still a great place to go shoot 'yotes, jacks, and squeeks!

Probably doesn't look like the "California" that comes to mind for most people LOL!

Marv,

Great pics. I am heading out for R&R myself. Nice tidy little camp you have there and sounds like good grub as well.

Marv, I love the pictures. Looks like you had to rough it a little in camp. Nice setup you have there and looks like you were mighty relaxed. Yepper, that is a nice buck for sure. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Good looking country Marv! Looks very relaxing.

Is that an x zone deer? We saw a couple very respectable bucks chukar hunting a few miles west of Ft Sage.

Pretty pictures, Marv Ol' buddy... Thanks for sharing...

I'd like to run into a buck like that one on my Wyoming hunt this year...

Ha...nope, no roughing it on this trip! Actually our main deer camp isn't too much different than this one once it's set up- but the spike camps away from here don't have many creature comforts ;)

Tyson- yep, X-Zone buck alright (X-3B to be exact) take not too far out of Cedarville towards the Nevada border. Deer numbers are thin out in that high desert but there are some smoker bucks hiding it that sage!

We got one last dusting of snow right before the end of May...crazy weather this year. Deer are already all over the second cut of alfalfa and we're seeing lots of chukar and quail all over the place this spring.
