I have sat and laughed with folks about getting caught with their pants down, but wondered how could it be possible? I decided to walk down the creek and then work my way up through the aspen grove. The amount of elk tracks were amazing, but they were 1 or 2 days old in the 5 inches of snow we had on Tuesday. Almost all the tracks headed south into the low country. I was able to cut some fresh lone bull tracks and 1 small group cows and calves. After slowly working my way through the timber, I decided to work my way to a meadow but I was delayed by natures call and it said now. I found a place to repose myself and got down to the business of getting all my layers of cloths out of the way. It was birr cold and not a time to read the newspaper or Cabela’s catalog. Success and I am pulling myself back together and I look over my shoulder and guess what, 4 cow elk about 100 yards away are standing watching me. I am in shock and trying to get my pants up enough to reach over and get my gun. I did get the gun up but had no shot through the trees. Now I know I am part elk because the wind was blowing straight from me to them and I lured them in with my person call. I did not get a cow but have another tail to tell. By the way I also followed a lone wolf track.

I believed your amusing anecdote wholeheartedly - until you claimed to have followed a wolf track.
Everyone knows that where there are wolves, there are no elk - reference other posts & threads:D.

I guess, but I am in an area that they are not safe in, so powder and lead fly's when they show their faces. Me included

None, I have only seen them 2 times alive and was not able to get a round off. They can vanish faster than my money. One of the local ranchers killed one last year and said he new of 2 in the area we are hunting this year.
