I should have enough points to draw the archery tag next year and would really like to get on some good public ground, but would consider private if a reasonable trespass fee were available. I also don't mind knocking on doors and offering to help landowners in any way for hunting opportunities in return.

What zone are you looking at? I live in Iowa and it's getting tough for us residents to find private land to hunt. I've lost 2 great places in the past 4 years so I've been hitting the public around central and south-central portions of the state. There are some good bucks to be found, just not behind every tree like the mags say. Shoot me a PM if you want and I'll see if I can help.
