Work was slow today so I made the decision to come home and take Drake for a walk. With negative wind chills we still managed one.

Better than none! Is pheasant hunting there pretty tough these days? Sounds like it used to be like SD back in the day.

The numbers have increased over the last few years but nothing like it was in the 70's. General loss of habitat has taken a toll on the birds here in central Iowa.

With only a few weeks left in our season here in ND and I have yet to fire a shell at a rooster. Hopefully I can get the hounds out for a few walks once this sub zero weather blows through. First year in my life I have never shot a rooster in either oct or nov. Was chasing swans too long and came up short on them too. Anyways best of luck to everyone with the remainder of their seasons left!

I grew up in the 80s. I could walk out back and limit out within an hour. That's been along time ago. It seems like some years are good and then some there is nothing. We don't have near the habitat that we used to.
