Inciweb search

It looks like Inciweb is only limited to a 365 day search now, but I've been able to find older incidents by knowing their name. I don't recall this limitation in the past when using the search function, does anyone know how to get around this?

Not knowing an area or forest history I wouldn't know of any past names of fires and am trying to figure out new tools to be able to identify any recent fires.

Great question, as I've noticed the same limitation recently. Starting to research a new area and not having much luck looking up fire info.

Happened last year I think.I used to find old data.
Less is more for more gubbermint.
Bet someone saves it as it is important FF data.I'll ask a retired FS neighbor.He has data you would not believe on wells alone.

Never used inciweb, but the forest service has always been pretty good sending me Google Earth overlays of recent fires.

onXmaps is your friend. They now have fires in the HUNT APP going all the way back to 2000. It will be a layer on the WebMAP platform by late summer.

Check out the "download perimeters" tab and grab the .KML files for use in Google Earth. This only goes back to 2011 though. GeoMAC https://www.geomac.gov/services.shtml

Inciweb changed servers a few times in recent years, I don't think they imported the older data to the new server.

That almost sounds like I was a United passenger LOL. As "exhausting" as the weekend is, it is pretty damn invigorating to get to chat with so many folks. I wish there was more time to talk to everyone.
