Anybody have a good red light headlamp that their using?? Needs to have some power.

The Black Diamond Storm is a really popular lamp with a lot of cool features. Check them out and see if it strikes you.

I have a Tikka with red & green lenses. Great for hike ins. Not so good for reading maps & such.
I use a Cabellas Outfitter for night work & reading, but mine is 15 yrs old and needs replacing.Switch wearing out.
Looking at BD or a newer Cabellas.

+1, keep in mind anytime you put a red filter on it will dim.

True, but some clear/white lights are so harsh & bright reading a topo or book is hard. The Cabellas one is excellent true light for reading maps & such while also excellent for working.
The Tikka clear is too bright harsh for reading.MO
Love the green for night hikes.

I use Princeton tec remix, uses3 aaa battery's and does great in red or white. $29 usually. If you use those fancy batteries it's super bright and last most of my season

I have a BD Storm and like it alot. The redlight is not super bright but the main LED's are also dimmable.
