Dead deer found in the Kamiah area are being tested for disease

Based on continuing reports of dead deer, Fish and Game officials estimate up to 50 to 100 whitetails have died in the Kamiah area. Idaho Fish and Game wildlife staff is working on testing the dead animals to confirm the cause of death.

ok, so to follow up on this, seems to be some sort of hemmorhagic disease. I was planning on hunting in the Kamiah area, Should I be looking for plan c, d, or e? Anyone have a family farm in 10A that needs does thinned out?

I’m not sure how localized it is but I suspect it very much is. I would just look to hunt more mtn/forest areas and avoid the low country

Confirmed in units 2 and 5, so likely going to be confirmed in other Panhandle/Clearwater units as well:

Multiple samples collected from dead deer in the Panhandle have tested positive for epizootic hemorrhagic disease.

Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD) continues to cause deer deaths across the Clearwater Region

Deer can continue to be infected by EHD for about two weeks or more after the first significant frost.
