I'm kind of embarrassed to admit this, but I have a hard time putting a pin (accurately) on the e-map when I see something with my eyes from a distance. I typically use the hybrid map, but toggle between topo as well and still have a bit of trouble accurately placing the pin where I have seen game.
Ideally, I want that pin exactly where the animal was standing, but realize that might not be realistic. Sometimes I miss by a small ridge or two...or three.
Are there any tips or tricks for this? I never grew up with much experience navigating by paper maps, so maybe I'm behind the learning curve . Or I'm just a dolt.
Go easy on me. I'm an OK hunter, I swear.
