Idaho MOVI detection

Thin air…… no sheep and no goats

Not sure if this was intended as sarcasm, but mtmiller's reply has actual details. Wild sheep populations are struggling everywhere. We need to decide if their survival/growth is more important than domestic sheep grazing.

Yes on domestic sheep issues but another, potentially larger issue, is the interconnection of the wild sheep flocks. The wild sheep are passing pneumonia from flock to flock.

Sarcasm, bro

I do however want to point out that imo killing the sheep that are infected and living normally is probably a disservice to natural immunity right? Shouldn’t we let the wild sheep get an evolutionary adaptation?

How long are you willing to wait? Domestic sheep and goats have been killing bighorns for a century or more.

To keep the species around, as long as it takes right? Or at least until someone develops a vaccine for it, but if that would happen, the bighorn sheep foundation would have no basis to ban domestic sheep or goats from anywhere. So they can’t hardly spend the millions of dollars they have to develop a vaccine. Also, why wouldn’t the bighorn sheep foundation partner with that domestic sheep or goat, associations or big producers to develop a vaccine? I’m talking about actually accomplishing something in stead of wasting time on bandaids.
