Hunting Merriams

I live/hunt in Western Kentucky. The only specie turkey ive killed is Easterns. Ive killed SEVERAL lol, ive been wanting to hunt merriams for several years now. In my opinion they are the most beautiful specie we have. Does any of you fellas take a trip out west in the spring to chase Merriams on public land? Whats some states with pretty decent public land to hunt merriams? Id rather do a do it yourself hunt, dont see paying that much to go hunt with a outfitter. If any of yall ever plan to come to western KY to hunt easterns let me know, id be more then glad to help ya out!

I've killed several on public land in the black hills of south dakota and Wyoming as well as north west Nebraska on public.

South dakota is one of the states i was thinkin about. I appreciate it buddy

Lots of public in the black hills decent bird numbers and can't hardly beat the scenery
