I have never been a Turkey hunter but wanted to learn this year. John called this bird in
It was a great hunt, we had 3 toms come in and one had me hold for about 15 min's then this 19.5 pounder came in and everthing became guite, John and I thought they ran off so we discussed the game plan quitely and lite our smakes back up. The on the other side of the big swamp oak out infront of me we here the druming. "O" .... SO I pulled the shot gun back up and held. John said he was right off the end of the tree 20 yards away but I couldn't see him because of the big oak in the way , then the bird turned and came around the other side giving me time to switch shooting directions. He came out of the thick stuff about 22 yards out, I here John "don't hit the tree" LOL, Bird never even twitched a feather. I was excited then. 11.5 bears and 1 3/8's spirs. now to try to use some of the things I learned from John next year to get my own bird.
