Hello. I have made up my mind to go out west and elk hunt. I grew up deer hunting in Mississippi. I know there will be a steep learning curve but that's why I am her. I want to learn as much as I can. I have recently discovered Randy Newberg's hunting videos and I enjoy them very much. I have also learned a good bit from them. I'm going to try for a Montana general tag and if that doesn't work out Colorado otc is my backup plan. I won't have a huge amount of time to take off and hunt since I'm in the military. So if anyone has any tips for map scouting or google earth scouting or just general advice for a new elk hunter or a good place to buy reasonably priced or used gear I'd sure appreciate it.
