My name is Owen, I’m 36 and work as a carpenter in the Helena area with my wife and geriatric black lab. I’m looking for hunting partners in the Helena area. I’m also into skiing (resort and backcountry), hiking and backpacking, whitewater sports, and fly fishing from time to time.
About me:
I got into hunting around 8 years ago when I was lucky enough to have a roommate that was a hunting guide in the Bob while studying at the U of M. After doing hunters safety in a classroom full of 5th graders (I was 26) I set off only to find that the woods close to Missoula are a bit crowded during rifle season.
The next summer I got out to the archery range consistently and the following season with the help of the Block management program as well is the archery only bitterroot river bottom (HD260) I bagged my first deer ever with a bow.
After that first deer I made the goal to harvest all of my first with a bow and since I have failed a lot but also I have learned a lot and been lucky enough to harvest more deer but also a nice elk and a antelope.
Would love to learn more about rifles as my knowledge is pretty lacking because of how deep I jumped into archery!
Politically I vote with public lands.
