Like Moosie, I also spent a day shooting with friends on Saturday.
I shoot "practical" (or whatever you want to call them) pistol matches at least once a month with the No Name Pistol Club. The last few months, we have included at least one 3-gun stage in our matches. I love them - they are a lot of fun and are challenging!
This past Saturday, we incorporated moving targets
via silhouettes on a furniture dolly pulled by a rope through pulleys, as well as the 3 gun match. The 3-gun match did not have any moving targets, though.
The 3-gun match this time was - start with rifle at port arms behind a table, on safe. Shoot 6 bowling pins at 50 yards. Safe weapon, place on table, grab shotgun and shoot 6 knock-down targets at 20 yards. Safe the shotgun, place on table, draw pistol and put 2 rounds into each of 3 silhouettes at 10 yards.
The bowling pins are harder than you might think!
Several of the guys left some standing, even after emptying a 20-round magazine. hump
I felt great, though - my best time was 34 seconds, and the next closest that hit all the targets was 59 seconds!
