Black Diamond Storm 500 is dead. It could not take the dampness of North Idaho and SEAK.

School me on your favorite headlamps and why. I know BF endorses the PEAX. If it's best show me why. I'm open and I like promo codes as well as the next guy.

You can essentially buy the peax from Amazon for a huge amount less. I looked at the peax the other day at Scheels at was very underwhelmed especially given the price

Fenix puts out some lumens. I am not a fan of the battery indicator. Maybe unique to the one I have.🤷‍♂️

I still got a Black Diamond so don't have a recommendation for replacing that but I carry a cheap Sofirn with me for a backup. Its cheap, rechargeable, and really bright. You can buy about 3 of them for the price of a Peax.

On a budget, the Sofirn version of the peax is great for cheap. I have one as a backup in my truck and have given a few away as gifts. For real off trail navigating in the dark, the Fenix kicks ass.

I love my fenix and have used black diamonds as well. I had to get some cheaper headlamps when I was a scoutmaster and I have been impressed with the EverBrites. Now carry a backup one in each of my packs. Pretty cheap insurance for $15.

For cheap I love the Duracell 500 three pack headlamps from Costco. These are the cheap and dirty ones hanging by the exit doors of the house and each vehicle. Awesome if you like cheap white LED only lights. They suss out to about $8 each at $24 a package.
