If your are passing through Duluth MN or Superior WI area, breakfast at the Trophy Cafe in Gary/New Duluth is darn good and the wall ornaments are pretty interesting.

I used to enjoy the Riverside Dr hangouts when I was in town.Breweries have supplanted the "cafe" in the PNW
I cannot wrap my head around the idea that Deary has been gentrified. Hoots was a must-stop after Salmon River trips lo those many year ago. The eatery that comes to mind is getting pie after Selway backpack trips at the Syringa Cafe on US 12. Haven't been that way in decades. Is it still around? You just have to leave home at midnight to get there for breakfast!
We used to come out of the woods after hunting on the Selway and head to Jillinda's in Kamiah. It's a pawn shop now.
Hoot's on US95 south of Whitebird isn't too bad after stomping around unit 14.
@Ben Long would tell you to skip The Pie Safe and head across the street to Fuzzy's when passing through Deary
Alas no. It was bought by a rafting company and then went bust. It's boarded up and for sale.I cannot wrap my head around the idea that Deary has been gentrified. I miss honest mom and pop comfort food breakfast, lunch, and dinner eateries. They still somewhat exist in unfranchised structure but the ethos is long gone.
Not entirely gone, but they are certainly an endangered species.
We had “the Pig Stand” here in town forever, got demolished this year
But we still have Bobby’s Cafe!!! Changed locations but still the same great family!!! Give me a shout if you’re ever down this way Harley….awesome biscuits n gravy
Feels as though I've hijacked another thread. I will stop the rabbit trail now.The cafe in Elk City, ID has some pretty fantastic biscuits and gravy.
I may have set pin for later...Allegedly…
