I grew up hunting deer, turkey, dove and quail in AL. For some reason, over the years, I deer hunted less and less, primarily focusing on bird hunting. Along comes my son, who would rather hunt than eat. A couple of years ago, when he was 10, he killed his first deer and has been hooked ever since. This year, we went hunting every weekend and had a really good year. He shot 2 does, a spike (his first buck) and a 6-point. I can honestly say the thrill of hunting with him has reignited the flame for me. We had a blast! And, on the last weekend of the season, I got invited on a last minute hunt with a friend and shot a 10-point. Great season!
We have several members in our club with young kids. We also have a bit of a hog problem. So, we have put out feeders for the hogs and will keep the kids hunting. Really enjoying myself!
