When I was a teenager, I was hiking the hills looking for antlers and ran out of water. No worries though, as close by was an old homestead with a spring box in good working order. Even had a ladle for dipping water. When I got to the spring box I was badly in need of a drink, so I opened the box and scoped out a ladle full of water with out looking carefully. The water about made me puck. I had drank from the spring in the past an never had a problem so I looked down into the box. In the bottom was a dead chipmunk that was slowly dissolving into a pile of mush. Did not make that mistake twice.
