Found where they are, now to figure out where they'll be

First year with an elk tag. Second year being a hunter. I must have gotten super lucky or something while out scouting yesterday and today. Found a herd in a meadow and a ton of sign on well traveled trails yesterday and put some cams up. This weekend is the last for archery and TONS of dudes out along the road... none where i was scouting. Huh. Oh well.

Now to find their sanctuary so i can fill my 3+ tag in November.

Looks good. There's a chance they'll be there in November, but likely pressure and weather will move them around. Try looking at areas they would likely hole up when they get pressured. I found a herd in a new zone over the summer and I'm really curious to see if they'll be in the area during 1st rifle in CO. They'll have dealt with a month of archery and a week of muzzleloader but then get a 2 week break til rifle. We'll see what happens. Planning on an opening morning packout.........................

That's always a pressing question, great to find them but putting together the puzzle to find where they will go to get the real opportunity

I’d start with that area and then have a plan b where if someone chased you out of that area, where would you go?
