I figured I would throw this up here before it goes on the auction block. I am selling this for a friend and will try and answer what questions you have.

Most all we know is it was his Grandfathers and it was modified by Mr Gibbs at his shop. Gun will come with the original dies. Which we think came back with the gun from Gibbs. Gun is in good shape for its age. The stock was replaced with a used high grade featherweight stock. I will get a group up on to show how it shoots. He is asking 900 obo. 8105B7FD-E7E4-43BC-B56F-4FBC45CA194B.jpegCBFA95AC-361A-4DA9-998E-C96803ED156C.jpeg8105B7FD-E7E4-43BC-B56F-4FBC45CA194B.jpegCBFA95AC-361A-4DA9-998E-C96803ED156C.jpegDBEAA743-EA2D-476B-8DA7-16CF87ACBF40.jpegE0C95C63-23D7-4144-B674-B94C0AE81A98.jpeg38912007-8367-4997-8783-294AF8D5BC81.jpegF5ECD575-D51B-409C-B3DD-F3C39A9A5804.jpegE3359A3D-5625-4B77-9898-878CE2753E3F.jpeg97F81ED6-179F-4FCC-98EE-EDB704C3A5AA.jpeg4B817BD7-F637-482F-AA89-F275E88CA749.jpeg6868A410-A0A5-4DAB-A929-EF2A52B066BD.jpeg

I took it to the range and it has a very smooth bolt. It feels nice and tight as you close the bolt. The trigger is very crisp at around a 4-5lbs. That old scope is actually quite good for being 60+ years old. The rounds that he had a friend load a few years ago were not great and after I had one split after firing I quit. So the group could get a lot better if someone did load development with new brass. Available here:https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/category/categoryId/740

Here is where I quit sighting it in. This was at 100yards and that is a 1.25” dot.

After closer inspection of the rounds the outside two were bulging and the center one is split.

New brass with a competent reloader and this gun would be a shooter.

I have a 30 Gibbs and it is a great gun. If I had the $$$$ I would by it in a second. It will make somebody very happy I am sure.

Someone buy this thing please!!!!! I have a 25 Gibbs my old man made that I love. Everyday I see this post I try to think of a way to justify buying it!!! It’s killing me!!!
N my wife would kill me if I got it!!!

I wish somebody would buy it too, it’s starting to look like it’s worth more disassembled with some of the offers. Really hate to do that to it to this piece of history.

I’m refinishing a 25Gibbs my old man made 50 some odd years ago. Reworking the stock rt now, changing up n sharpening up the lines. Will post more on the firearms section as I go
