Fall Bear Hunting in WY

My first time out west coming up. Buddy and I have one antelope tag each and have 8 days to fill them. It sounds like we may have some extra days to hunt. We’ll be near the Ferris Mountains in central Wyoming. Odds of being able to hunt Black bear for a few days there? I haven’t been able to find to much info on bear numbers in that area.

Not impossible, but I don’t think the Ferris’ are known for having very many bears. I think you’d probably have more fun with a game bird or fishing license and driving to various places to fish and hunt grouse.

You'll have to check the quota on sows regularly, is there bear hunting in the Ferris Mts?

Ferris Mts are in section 35 meaning there is no mortality quota. Based on all my research it seems like there are not many bears in the area.
