Elk wallows

I will be hunting Sept 14-22, which I know is a little late for wallow hunting. It looks like this season will be hot & drier so I'm thinking wallows will be used longer. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share dates of past kills over wallows.

They'll use it the most the 2 weeks preceding the rut...but will still hit it throughout.

It should be hit and miss. Your dates are not late. Once you get out there, you'll obviously observe the latest action. I would say we've not noticed any definitive patterning for hitting wallows. And thats in different hunt units. If they're hot and near one, they'll use it. Use calling and glassing first. Good luck.
