Elk 2nd choice application question

Hey all,

Quick question. I wanted to see if you guys could help to clarify the 2nd choice option for elk. I am considering applying for the 900 archery tag as a second choice but absolutely dont want that to burn my 14 elk points! So two questions; 1. As a resident would I have a decent odds to draw the 900 archery with a second choice? 2. Does the 2nd choice use your points up if you were to draw it?

0% chance if the applications mirror the 2020 numbers.

Thanks for that link. Looks like there would be no point in applying for the 900 archery tag as a second choice.

It depends on the year. 2017 had 566 2nd choice successful and 2018 had 270

I used to be able to get it as my second choice, but last year I know guys who put it as their first and didn't get it. Lots more guys doing it now
