Moved to eastern Oregon from Colorado a couple years ago and just drew a 265 east Beulah tag. Been told it’s almost impossible to harvest. Hoping to prove some people wrong. If you got tips, or know a land owner here that would trade access for fence work. Let me know.

Welcome from the other side of the Cascades. Eastern Oregon is a great place! I hunted antelope in the Beulah unit many years ago. Didn't see any elk, but wasn't really in elk country either. Congrats on the tag!

Welcome! That’s a tough hunt. When ODFW sets out to reduce elk numbers they are very successful and that’s the case there.

I would start knocking on doors. The ranchers wanted them thinned out dramatically, I doubt any of them have enough elk to legitimately sell access for elk, you might even find an old school rancher who will show you around.
I’ve hunter deer there a bunch over the years, mostly before we went to draw hunts, it is fun country to hunt.

i hunted that some years back and its a tough hunt,,there is some area n ne of the resivoir that i did see some elk in..one day there i seen some a- hole guy in a helicopter flying super low trying to push animals, i believe,,i reported it to osp but they didnt do nothing as far as i know.i was so pissed i was thinking about sending a round his direction

That is Billy Butler, likes to fly his property and then some.

My experience with him has been limited, along a public road. He’s an ass hat!
