Made the four hour trip to my place today to do some work and check on things. Getting the “cabin” walled up and insulated. It’s just a pre fabed shed. So far the walls have been insulated, plywood over insulation. New wall to separate sleeping quarters from kitchen, pocket door and AC put in corner. Still to come is insulating roof, bunk beds and water. It was 103 outside, 99 in here this afternoon but has dropped down to 76 with the AC.

Looks like it's coming along nicely.Do Deer like Mtn. House?
I know Horses love me.Never met a Horse yet that didn't bite me.
Keep up the good work,at least you have AC.
Record heat here,Prev.110deg. Tue. and Wed. 113-115 deg. Stay Cool !

I don’t know about mountain house but I do know they were coming for the water station. Both my stock tanks are bone dry despite having water just a month ago.

Had a horse here a few years ago that latched onto my thumb and I had to punch in the nose a few times to get her to let go.

115!? Ouch! I work in a warehouse unloading trailers, last week the heat index in my trailer was 116, the boss came and kicked me out. One I had yesterday was 108. I’m getting too old for this.

Good on your Boss,Heat is nothing to mess around with.
Keep us posted on your progress.

I know a few places that you can take those horses to that'll help feed some hungry frenchmen and put a little money in your pocket.

We set 3 new heat records in Phx. This Week Alone!I'ts supposed to
cool down to 104deg this weekend then right back up again next week.
How's that Cabin coming along send us some Pics...

Man, and I thought it gets hot in TX.

No further progress on the cabin, I came home after clearing my roads and doing some shooting wed morning. It’s just too hot. I’ll get back for a couple of days next month.

A closer look at one of the bucks that walked into camp.

My “long range” area. Use to have 1200+ yards but that section sold.

That Buck looks great in velvet, and his summer coat looks like he's been groomed.
Too hot...I went to make ice the other am. at 0400 the "cold" tap water was 87deg!

Bay needs her feet trimmed, the right front is getting a little dished.

Haven’t had the chance to go back in a few months. My buddy has run power, breaker box and outlets. The insulation and walls are done.
He sent me these pics when he was there last week. My wife just got her first ever hunting license yesterday and said she is ready for her first deer......

we probably won’t get out until the week of thanksgiving since she’s a teacher and I work weekends. Crazy schedule conflicts.

Oh and the horses are gone. They belonged to the guy leasing the grazing rights. My buddy lost his temper on them last month, called the guy and they were gone the next day. 😂

I got crazy and made the drive yesterday morning. Seen a few young bucks yesterday evening, no doe. I still hunted and sat in a tripod despite the constant sleet coming down.
It was raining this morning so I went and sat in my big fancy box blind but man I hate sitting and watching a feeder anymore.
Caught this guy sneaking through the cedars, yelled to stop him and bam; it happened quick.
My widest yet shortest buck ever. I like him and he will eat good.

Oh and the insulation in the cabin is really working. We were a warm 72 degrees last night.
