I think fred bear invented using milkweed pods for wind sometime in the 60s. Thistle also works. I dont rig them to anything i just grab a pod or two while im out hunting.

Please do not throw thistle seed around, we have a hard enough time trying to get rid of that stuff.

I use dog fur and put it in a 35mm film canister or something similar. When I use the black powder rifle it goes in the patch box and on my bow there is a little stick on patch of velcro that will hold enough for all day.
