Depth finder chip

Does anyone have experience with the "Gold" version of Navionics mapping chip? I see that it is discontinued, but can buy a brand new, never used chip very reasonable. Going to put it in a Humminbird depth finder, not sure which model yet, but most likely Helix 7 DI. What can anyone tell me?

I would personalty go with a new lake master chip, i have a 5 year old Navionics in my new Hummingbird, its ok but it doesn't have near the small South Dakota lakes that the Lakemaster does.

If you ever decide to link the Hummingbird with a minn kota the Lakemaster chip is the only chip compatible to do so.

I like the Lakemaster chip more than the Navionics, personally.

I've been drooling over the Helix 10 the last week. The Autochart Live looks like the clear ticket for the Canadian lakes that I fish that are not mapped. I just wish I had a little extra money laying around!
