Not as Scarey as a Doctor Visit but after 4 years of not Going Moosie has to go back in. Yesterday I went for the first time and have 2 Cavities. One really Small one and the Other... Well, Something about a Pocket that the choco from the shakes get's into and it's close to the root. Something about a couple grand and a Root canal, Doesn't sound too bad.... does it ?

I'll find out today at 2:50. I told them to make it at tooth-hurty instead of two-fifty. I guess my humor gets lost with doctors ;)

Too bad you weren't closer to Redding Moosie...I'd have my wife give you a discount....provided I got to apply the anesthetic hump :D

MArV, It would have been wrth the Plane ticket for sure !!!! :D

that and I hate them money grabbing son of a guns.

Holey Chit you ain't just a Kidding !!!

Our new Insurance pays an 80/20 on normal and 50/50 on Major. My root canal portion was $1600 or so split in different deals and they covered 1000 and I paid 602. or something like that. Now I have to Go in for a Cleaning. Cleanings, not the normal ones but the ones were they scrape under our gums, etc is $172 a Quarter mouth and also I have one Cavity. So, I'm waiting till Jan 1st to do those. Hell, I've burnt the 1,000 that the insurance pay so the next $900 would have to come out of my pocket 100% in I wait 2 months. After 5 years whats 2 months..... eh ? Since it's jsut a cleaning they cover 80% so I'm only out a Couple Hundy.

That being said, it's still a Frigging lot of coins.

As far as the Root canal, I had no problem. Well... Except I don't do well with things shoved in my mouth.... (Why do I type that kind of stuff.. I know theses guys are simple minded and perverted.. ;) ) ANYWAYS .... , I gaged once and HAd to cough another time. Nothing like coughing spit all over. Geshhh. I'm als othe Saliva KING !!! It's like biting into one of those lemon drops when I go to the Dentist. A running faucet, YAH, too much info but it's true........ I hear "Sucking for Saliva Boy again please...." ;)

Anyways, I have Nothing for Pain, Nada. I"m packing a Temporary Crown and they will install the Permanent one End of November when I'm back from Alaska. Hopefully the fake one doesn't fall out there.. If so, I'll make due I guess.

Hey Moosie, it sounds like they had to "tap" you just to keep the saliva out of the working area!

There are a few reasons I like going to my dentist: 1) All of his hired help is HOT! White lab coats w/ black dress slacks and all with perfect teeth - ooooo la la! 2) I can shoot the crap all day with him (the dentist) about hunting and hunting related stories - it never gets old. Oh, and the satellite video goggles, heated/vibrating chairs, and the token for being a good boy makes the vist worth while too!

And yes, they do soak you for dental these days. I think he charges $90 per tooth for an extraction. Holy Crap! That makes one serious dent in the Tooth Fairy budget!

I tell you Mooseman...you got to plan it out for next year and incorporate it into a blacktail hunt out here....I'll have the wife kick in the root planning- hell over four quads that will save you $688- a ticket on Southwest from Boise to Sac is only $240R/T) .....I still get to do any needle work though :D
