Yesterday had nice buck walking alone at 7:15 am approx. 80 yards out. Appears he checked a scrape nearby. I tried grunting (forgot my rattle bag) and he absolutely paid no attention whatsoever. It was definitely loud enough, since there was no wind or anything. Just wondering what other experiences people may have had with an encounter like this. Some people say rut is in full swing now but I saw most of my activity the first week in November. I'm hunting in Ohio, an hour away from Pittsburgh. Any thoughts? Think rut is at tail end and these boys are tired out? IDK, never seen this buck on property before but was definitely a hanger.
