Custom 6mm Remington

Wow. You could display that in a room which had outstanding oil paintings and yet the wood would still catch your eyes.

I switched to non-wood stocks when built ordered three custom guns over the past 25 years. Wood that sells in rain or cracks when fall out of a scabbard were my reasons. No regrets but my rifles will never be as impressive as that 6mm.

That 6mm is a wonderful round. 26" barrel 1x14 I'm guessing. I have one, I wish it was a 1x10. I push a BT 55 gr 4200 fps gophers vaporize. I use it for deer with an 80-grain TTSX at 3600 fps. Deer and antelope 400 plus never hear the shot...

That is a beautiful rifle in the best antelope/deer cartridge out there! Nope not biased one bit. Is that a post 64 Winchester action it was built on? I'm not certain from the picture. Hopefully it has a 1-9 twist. I have a Ruger 1B in 6mm Remington and my son now has my Remington 600 Centennial in 6mm and a Ruger MKII in 6mm Remington. I'd say we are pretty well set. I also gave my fathers Remington Model 700 in 6mm to my grandson Ethan. He's going to be old enought to hunt here pretty soon.

Good shooting Shrap. I’m glad the rifle gets to live. Too many folks buy pretty rifles like that and put them in the safe for eternity.

I don’t want fast twist. I will use this for varmints and maybe an occasional deer or antelope.

It is a modified Remington action with 3 position safety…
