Crab apples

Anyone know how much deer like yellow crab apples? Found some on a tree in a suburban parking lot. Filled up a whole garbage can full. Didn't really see where the deer were eating them. Maybe too bitter? IDK

Take a bite out of one. If quite bitter / sour then probably not that appealing to the deer. If sweet, I'll bet the deer would eat 'em.

I took a bite of one of them and it was a bitter tasting apple.

Pretty sure those are toxic/poisonous to humans...

You might check the regulation where you hunt, that might be considered baiting if there are no other crab apple trees around.

I thought people make jam out of them? I don't think they are the best tasting fruit out there, but I don't believe they are toxic.
