Had one done recently due to some atypical chest pain and nothing revealed on EKG or stress test. Doctor wasn't worried but I wanted that extra screening for myself since my cholesterol is also high (side effect of TRT and my refusal to take my statins because they make me feel like garbage). Came back at a 0, best it can be, which was a relief.

The test is cheap insurance to get an idea if you have blockages starting up. Even without insurance mine was like $125 and worth every penny. I've been recommending them to all of my buddies.

Anyone else have any experience?

Calcium score is one of several “indicators “ of coronary health. One should pay particular attention to LDL cholesterol number. In general, if your LDL is above 60, you are forming (and circulating) soft plaque. New guidelines (American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology) are out now which stress the importance of knowing your LDL number and now, according to the most recent study, your ApoB score (should be below 90). Make sure to see a Board Certified cardiologist who keeps up with the latest research/studies.
