Sweetwater Lake Ranch now in public hands after Forest Service, Conservation Fund acquisition

The White River National Forest on Tuesday completed its acquisition of the 488-acre Sweetwater Lake Ranch, located in the Flat Tops on the Garfield-Eagle county line.

Sweetwater is a splendid spot, and offers access to awesome public lands.

It's a pretty cool spot. The acquisition will put it on the map and it will likely be overrun. But it's a good access point to the Flat Tops. It will be interesting to see what they do with the existing infrastructure.
