CO Unit 49 muzzleloader bulls

A buddy and I are hoping to draw this unit with 12 points this year. We have some experience in other units and have debated whether or not we are wasting our time and points hunting a new unit. With this being a LE unit, how is the hunting pressure? Is there enough pressure to push the elk into higher rougher country? Are the hunters drawing these tags getting back into the more difficult areas or sticking close to the roads and trails like we have experienced in other units? We are trying to decide where to start our hunt, do we look for the toughest country to head in to first or is it possible to locate elk in "easier" country due to this being a LE unit? Not looking for the GPS coordinates to your honey hole, we have identified some very good looking spots through e-scouting, just general info. Thanks!
