CO 3rd Season Unit 53 or 68/681

A friend and I have decided to burn our CO deer points in 2013 (this year will be filled with Wyoming and Oregon tags). We'll each have 8 points and wanted to get some input from the CO members or others who have hunted either unit 53 or 68/681 during the third season. We're not after the biggest of the big, although if he presented himself we'd take him. Mature bucks are what we'll be targeting and score does not matter. I didn't hunt 3rd season, but I was in unit 68 with my dad for archery a couple years ago. It was my first time hunting out west, so I don't know much about locating animals. After we had done a quite a bit of walking to learn the immediate area, we mostly sat at places where we found good sign. We never saw anything while sitting, but we did see some does while walking. We never saw any bucks, but, like I said, it was a different time of year, and we didn't know what we were doing.

I've decided on Unit 68. I just found out one of my buddies who lives in CO is going to draw the tag this year, so I'll get some "fresh" reports from him. On top of that, two of his buddies have had the tag the last two years. Hopefully I'll have some awesome photos to share with everyone after our 2013 adventure.
