Found out today we lost a good friend and outstanding Soldier. SSG Fowler was my go to NCO. He volunteered for everything and was the Soldier you never needed to check on. He would always get it done, sometimes unconventional, but done none the less.
He just returned from a voluntary year long deployment. Only to die in a tragic fire a week later. Do me a favor and check your smoke detectors.
