Camping areas close to Indian Creek and Papoose Trailheads?

Just wondering if anyone knows of some camping areas close to either trailhead. We haul up a couple trailers and need an area that's OK with horses. Plan to hunt the Madison side in 362 if things are slow elsewhere. I've checked the beaver head national forest sire and its looking like my best option is Bear Creek campground. I'm used to dispersed camping so maybe I will just have to talk the guys into hunting the Gravelies for plan b.
Thanks all.

There are several forest service campsites on the river close to Papoose- Riverview, Madison and West Fork. Farther north you have Palisades and Ruby Creek close to the WMA which would put you closer to Indian Ck. I can't remember which of these have space for horses though. Might be worth calling the forest service and asking.

Pretty sure Palisades is a BLM campground. It was all but empty last year when I was out there, there was one camper and that was it. You could probably keep stock there, but I don't recall any hitching rails or anything, if that's what you're after.

Lyons Bridge/West Fork is close to the Papoose trailhead, but not very close to Indian Creek. Kind of hard to be close to both and be a decent camping spot really.

Ok... thanks for the replies! Yeah either way I would have to trailer the ponies to the trailhead so driving isn't a big deal. Just looking over my options if a person wants to slip over the mountain and hunt the other side. Went up Indian last year for a day and came back out heavy. Wanted to go even further up but ran out of time. One day the group and I will have the courage to sleep with the bears.
Anyone have experience up Indian on the west side of Shedhorn? Pm me if so.
thanks all!
