What better to do on a cold winter day?

Nothing goes together better than a nice 22 rimfire and a bunch of cottontail rabbits. Used a Remington 541T.

Nice pics Troy....its good to see you're not arm wrestling them again ;)

Did you run em' out with a hound or stalk em' around those hay bales?

Cottontail rabbits are a blast to shoot. Last spring my brothers and i put a major hurt on them in a matter of a few hours. They stand out like sore thumb's which is good and bad in the same regard. Congrats on the wabbits!!

Nice pictures, Troy...

A lot of good eating there, too... :p .....

Here's my favorite rabbit recipe....

rabbit, disjointed into serving pieces

dust in a mixture of flour, salt , pepper and poultry seasoning..

brown in a skillet in some olive oil and butter...

Place browned pieces in a baking dish...

lay onion slices on rabbit pieces...

Add about 1/2 inch of white wine OR beer..

Cover dish with foil and bake at 300 degrees until tender..Add more liquid if necessary...

When rabbit is tender ( 1-2 hrs) remove foil and allow it to brown for a few minutes...

If desired you can thicken the drippings for a gravy..

We were out calling some Yotes Sunday. No Yotes but we did do some Bunny blasting our selves. We (two of us) got 6 cottentails. I know that doesn't sound to good but we were 200+yards and shooting 45/70's
