Brooks falls bears - Live cams

I couldn’t guess how many times I went up to Brooks while I was guiding in that region. Never got tired of it. If you’ve realized God only gave you 80 summers to go do and see and take care of your bucket list, get a trip to Brooks on your list.

Brooks is over rated.

Go to where the friendly bears are. hahahah.....kidding, I am sure Brooks is fine.

Any of the streams out there will provide plenty of bear encounters. I guided on almost all of them from the American to Cinder. Bears are on all of them. Some of those streams may not have boot tracks even in August.
Ya all need to just go, me, I like to take naps at lunch.

I worked six years, in all villages, around Lake Clark, Lake Iliamna, Bristol Bay, out into the Aleutian's, in all villages from, Pedro Bay to Amchitka.
While a Construction/Maintenance guy, I always packed a fly & spin rod for after hours, which is all night in Alaska summer. Plenty of bear encounters.

Did you ever have, or witness, a bear actually contacting (mauling, swatting, eating, etc) someone?

No, I sprayed quite a few and only had to shoot one who broke out a window and was trying to get into one of the cabins. We had sprayed that bear earlier that evening.i always carried a gun as well as spray. One of my friends up there had hunting areas in three separate areas. One of his guides got chewed up pretty bad by an interior Grizz up on the Brooks range.
