Boots for extra wide feet?

There are plenty of really good boot makers out there. But everyone's foot is different. The few times I've spent lots on "high end" boots, the best my feet felt was the day I walked barefoot to tossed those overpriced things in the garbage can. I've tossed a few $500 boots in the trash after arguing with customer service. I gave up and just buy cheap every single year.

It's a me issue. I have a very wide and short foot. Does anyone have recommendations? At this point I've given up and just order wide Danners every year, wear them for a year, toss them. But this year was super wet... 5 days of wet blown out boots and wet feet. Anyone have a similar issue? Recommendations? As you can see from photos I bought "wide'' and still blew out both sides.

He’s awesome and has helped me work to a couple good options. I am in a similar boat and I wore Merrells because they fit my feet but got tired of them leaking and breaking down before a year.

Currently I am in Vasque Canyon Breeze that I very much like and Oboz Yellowstones for heavier duty work.

So sometimes you have to sacrifice weight for size. I wear Irish Setter Elk Tracker 16H. They are heavy but are comfortable and only boot so far I have found for 15 5E needs. H width is rare and they had it. They are holding up pretty well. IDK if still offered?

I went with Crispi boots this time as well. 11 EE is my size and these seem a to fit the bill. I feel your pain on the wide foot. You may want to try a custom pair of White's boots out of Spokane. I've heard they build them to your foot, might be worth a call to them.

Soooo... one of the boots I referenced in the "best my feet felt was barefoot tossing them in the trash..." was a pair of White's. Second pair was Hawthorns which is their secondary brand. Both were probably the best made pair of high quality boots that ate my feet alive. They are damn high quality boots but kill my feet.

As far as quality goes they were well built to abuse and in perfectly working condition when I tossed them after 2 years of trying. They just didn't fit my feet.

The reason I'm asking is I've tried a lot of brands... they all happily say, "oh our boots will be the best ever! Just try them! Full return!''

I buy and wear for 3 months. Good break in period. Still hurt or blown out.

They’re on the budget side and they don’t have the best durability, but I’ve generally been happy with Merrell wide boots. I’m probably a 3E width. Most 2E’s are fine, but some aren’t and some 4E’s are too wide and some are great. Merrell’s have always fit. Jim Green boots are supposed to be pretty good and their JG last is 3E.

If yur anywhere near Bozeman Kenetrek has wide sizes they took two pairs back at a full refund before we got my size right??!!

I too am in the club - feet short and wide with very high arches. The only boots I've ever found that work for me is Keen. Keens get a bad rap for not being very durable, and it's not undeserved, but you should look into the Targhee IV. It's a much sturdier design than previous models. The pair I have, I've used for 2 summers (I do a lot of hiking) and 2 hunting seasons. I'm kind of hard on foot gear, but the Targhee IV's are holding up well.

Got my Kenetrek wides today. Put them on out of the box and they fit great. By that I mean I was actually surprised at the toe room I have never had. I could wiggle them but not much. Kicked the floor hard and never hurt my toes or pinched. Secure but not tight. Heel fit good. Walking around no heel slap. Most importantly for people with Flintstone feet... they fit from the ball of my foot to the outside of my pinky toe.

More to come but me and the wife just did a 1 mile walk and I felt NO pinching. Absolutely none. Stiff but that's expected.

Be warned if you order wide hey are ACTUALLY wide.

Danner pronghorn wide vs Kenetrek and wolverine slip on wide vs Kenetrek. Both very broke in. The wolverine boots were wet walked then oiled. Still a bit narrow but livable. Last photo brand new boot next to socked foot. Crazy close.

So Irish Setter 16H insulated have been great BUT for normal hunting like walking with concrete blocks. The problem is I have gone thru every damn boot mfg'er and so far nobody carries Sasquatch size boots that I can find. Custom is off the table cost wise. So anybody ever see at least 15 5E.?

Nike or custum. Globe fire boots makes the most comfortable boot you will ever wear but not a hiking/hunting boot.

The globe salesman had me break in a trial pair. Wet with hot water, walk 2 miles, oil as they dried. Condition wen dry. My feet look cartoonish the next day. But I wore those things 10 hrs a day through academy and months after. Felt like K Swiss sneakers that weighed 4 lbs each. (Light for bunker boots.) Then they took them back OR I paid $900.00 to keep. I tried but couldn't afford it. When they took them from me I offered to buy a gift card to Victoria's Secret and one to texas roadhouse to keep them. Steak dinner and the wife in lingerie... No dice. They took them away.

I'm in Thorogoods now and they suck less than most others.

Someone could make a mint with a foot shape app. I'm not gonna lie I've tossed nicks, White's, Danner, etc. Because they hurt. I'm digging these kenetrek wides. There's actually room I could stretch them. I think you should call them and ask about a trial pair. I'm a 8.5 EE and it's the ONLY boot I've ever worn that I had to lace tighter. Give them a call.

Unlike Lamb, Kenetreks have not worked for me. I used the Hoffman Explorers in wide.

I will through in a second for the Irish Setter Elk Tracker! I have a pair in 11H. Irish Setter/Red Wing is the only company I am aware of that regularly manufactures boots in an H width. H is wider than 4E. I work on the railroad and have bought all of my boots from them for years. They make an uninsulated work boot called the King Toe that has a carbon fiber toe cap instead of steel. These are my go to railroad/daily work boot.

I used to swear by crispi Nevada in wide but kept getting Achilles and some nerve flare ups. Since switching to kenetrek slideroks in wide, I have thrown away the crispi. Zero foot or Achilles problems with kenetreks
