My uncle just moved there and although hes more of a fisherman than a hunter I was curious to know what the hunting is like around there. Anybody Have an idea on types of game and population densitys?

Your uncle is a lucky man, Bend is a beautiful area. I've only fished in the area close to Bend, but it does have some good fishing. I've never hunted there, but I've seen mule deer, elk and antelope all near or within reasonable distance from Bend, going west I think you would find blacktail fairly soon also. That area has seen A LOT of population growth (people), so it ain't like the old days, but all-in-all I'd say it's a great area with good potential. Good luck to him.

I've lived in Oregon for 55 and 11/12 years. In Bend for 52 years.
I drive out of Oregon to Elk hunt except for a cpl long weekends. Are there Elk around, sure but it's a far cry from NM or WY. When you've hunted out of state it's real hard to get enthused about hearing 2 bugles a day and getting in a foot race to get to them.
I no longer Deer hunt but buy a tag in-case one stands next to the road long enough to get shot. A scrub 3x or 4x from WY is a pretty darn good buck around here.
I quit hunting Quail when people started looking at me funny when I rode past on my bike with a 12 ga on the handle bars and they called the cops.
I killed a "dink" Antelope Buck years ago, 15 1/4". Last time I was thru that unit I never saw an Antelope and it takes 10 points to draw.
There isn't a Pheasant within 50 miles that wasn't raised in a cage.
We used to tie our own fly's using critters we killed and skinned. I quit fly fishing when the "groovy" crowd showed up with Ford Explorers and wood fish nets. I don't know anybody that actually owns or uses a fish net.

Depends what he's looking for.
It's Oregon, not NM or WY. Most all the people that moved here, taking the population from 17K to 88K, came from Kali.

The Bend area has great fishing, good elk hunting and fair Mule deer hunting. I am not sure if your uncle likes to go deep sea fishing, but if he does, he has to go catch albacore off the Oregon Coast sometime in July through September...

There's great fishing close by. There is a huge demand for hunting in Central and Eastern Oregon and anyone wanting to hunt genaerally has to enter the draw. Elk and deer seasons are short.

I live in Western Oregon and have finally concluded that ODFW doesn't want me to kill a deer and I'm thinking of giving up on this state, but that's another story.
