what do you know about a $2000 Mt. lion bounty there in new mexico? i just heard about this today but couldn't get any details. is this for hired guns only or can the average "joe" get in on this too?

I really don't think much of the idea. I think they ought to let sportsmen get in there and get them instead of paying contractors! There are 6 contractors that already have agreements with the NMDG&F to kill the lions this year. They tried this last year also except that the contractors were getting paid by the hour and so much per lion killed and not a single lion was taken. That is the reason they are paying only by the lion killed this year. I was trying to get a link to the article in the Santa Fe New Mexican, but could not find it.

I agree with ya BCA!! I dont think they should pay for killing the lions when they could collect money from sportsmen through tag sales and come out better. Another example of a poorly run Wildlife Department. bcat
