Back in the game

I knew it but wasn't going to tell anyone. Have em aim for lung and avoid destroying the the quarter.

Hunting with just one daughter this year, rest of em are adults who didn’t apply or too young now. Central mt. 6 cm or 25 cm… should be fun. Kinda been lazy on the RL myself lately. That 25 shoots anything though with rl 16. Good luck! Hope y'all whack some good ones. Well they all taste good anyhow.
Bergers are fine. But I learned there is a weight and velocity threshold that needs paid attention to. I moved on to other bullets that kill just as well. That little 95 in .243 though. mtmuley

Gonna rock the traditionals. Have a couple 7-08s that won't be ready till next year. Somewhere an antelope is going to meet my RUM. Well, maybe. Been thinking of using the Grandfather's. 30-30. We'll see. mtmuley

223 ackley, 22-250, and 6prc will get the main action this year. Wife might use her grandpas 270 again but she likes shooting suppressed so might not.

Son will be on his Ruger tang .270. 140 Accubond. My buddy on a Remington 700 7mm 160 Accubond. Son in Law a Savage Axis in .30-06 with a 180 Core Lokt Tipped. Daughter maybe a 6.5 Creed but we hate the ELDX from last hunt. So she will most likely be on her .243 Ruger tang in .243. mtmuley

Those ELDX are the worse performing round for hunting I've ever seen. Using a 30-30 could make for a interesting hunt.

Personally seen the 178gr 30-06 fail 4 times on 3 separate animals. All 4 rounds completely exploded with less then 4-5 inches of penetration no exit not even a discernible wound channel other then a giant entrance hole. Nothing recovered but tiny scraps of jacket and lead. If anything at least they were consistent. All good shots from 150-280 yards the things are just little hand grenades. They did group really well on paper. Have heard many stories including some guys on this sight who had identical problems. Also have heard some who have had good results and that apparently they're built tougher now and that was really only a problem orginally 🤷‍♂️. All I know is the ones I used where the absolute worst performing round I've ever put into a animal.
