I went up last weekend to take a look at the area I drew my deer tag in this year. I've never hunted the area and wasn't sure what to expect. Didn't really see many deer, but located one buck that I decided I'd return for this weekend. He was just an average 4x4, but is still in velvet for some reason, and has a deformed antler on one side. However, after taking a second look at unit boundaries, I discovered that he is out of my unit by 1/2 mile. Oh well. We saw hundreds of antelope and two raghorn 5pt. bulls.
Overall, not many deer seen, but we didn't get out and pound the ground. Wanted to leave them undisturbed. I'm heading out on Friday!
