Just got off my tag soup from Spring Javelina and looking forward to my 3B turkey hunt coming up. I learned a big lesson on the Javelina hunt in that i didn't go down for a day to scout the area and plan base camp or scouting areas, but i did allow for 2 days of scouting ahead of the season. I only used OnX and Google Maps for pre-scouting. For Turkey I'm making sure i spend at least one day pre-scouting by driving up there in a couple of weeks and possibly a 2nd trip early April. I have been looking on OnX and online research and have been focused on the south east side of the unit. Marshal Mtn road and Trap Tank are my initial thoughts. Is this a good spot to start? This is my very first Turkey hunt and cannot wait to get back out in the field.
